The Butte Literacy Council is excited to continue our program “For the Love of Reading”. In February, 2014 we initiated this project, and thanks to the overwhelming generosity of donors like you, we achieved our goal. Each first grade student in Chico Public Schools and Charter Schools received a new book from the Butte Literacy Council. The response to the initial distribution of books through the “For the Love of Reading” project was extremely positive. We look forward to the continuation of this project in February, 2015.
The Butte Literacy Council believes that donating a book to each beginning reader will promote and encourage reading in the home environment. We will, of course, continue our current programs of Books for Babies, Butte Literacy Council Short Story Contest and Books for Juvenile Hall.
